No. Western Building Products sells through a network of dealers who serve builders and homeowners. Easily find and call your local dealer using our dealer locator tool.
No, unfortunately we do not have a showroom open to the public. We leave that to our network of dealers, many of whom display our products. Use our dealer locator tool with a new “checkbox filter” to see who displays which products.
We provide building products and value added services primarily for the residential market, including new constructions, renovations and remodeling on multi-family units, duplexes and single family homes.
We do take on select commercial project work including condominium complexes and high-rises. Additionally, our line of fire-rated and commercial doors from Timely and Tell may be a good fit for project work.
We ask that you start with your builder or dealer as they are best suited to initiate the claims process given their knowledge of your purchase history. Please start by describing your problem, including your address and date of installation and any proof of purchase.
Western Building Products warehouses and distributes thousands of products but also has a manufacturing and prefinishing capability, building quality prehungs and staining them. We sell through dealers who provide hands-on service and support to builders and homeowners.
Western specializes in interior doors and entry door systems (exterior doors). We also offer a wide array of mouldings, stair parts and other millwork products. We provide prefinishing services to our dealers as well as pre-hungs (install-ready door/jambs), hinge preps and more.
Many of our stock products are shipped within a few days as we make deliveries to dealers once or twice a week. Allow for an additional week on products that ship from our Genoa City facility. Expect a 2 week lead time on products that go through our prefinishing department such as our designer color series. Special order products such as privacy glass take about 2 weeks while custom Simpson doors can take 6 weeks (though it’s well worth the wait).
We have our own fleet of semi-trucks and box trucks, making regular rounds to our dealers. Our drivers handle products with the utmost care ensuring products arrive on time and error (and damage) free.
Due to the manufacturing process and the nature of wood, mouldings are shipped in random lengths, from 5 to 16 ft following the “20 60 20 rule.”

Roughly 20% are considered “shorts” between 5 – 8 ft, 60% are “mediums” or 9 – 12 ft and the last 20% are “longs” 13 – 16 ft. However, all Oak mouldings range from 6 – 16 ft.

The 20 60 20 distribution is a result of the rough milling phase and subsequent “defecting” at the moulder where knots and checking are cut out. Why? So builders have 100% usable material in the field – especially important when it’s prefinished.

The 20 60 20 distribution is how the mill sells the material and how it is subsequently sold to dealers and builders as the supply chain goes.

By working together to best utilize these natural resources available to us, we can remain competitive and ultimately better serve you.
